These glass hashi are about 9" long and made of several thin rods of glass, twisted together. Called hashi in Japan, I have found art glass examples to be fairly rare, likely because they are probably pretty fragile. I have not tempted fate by trying to use the examples in my collection
After an early morning (middle of the night) disaster when I accidentally deleted my recent post on art glass hashioki (chopstick rests), I decided to back up and start with displaying some glass chopsticks before returning to art glass chopstick rests. I may also post some ceramic/porcelain chopstick rests if there is any interest. I have examples from several major kilns.
Some history of chopsticks:

Thanks Kevin, Vynil33rpm, dav2no1 and jscott0363!
Thanks for checking out my chopsticks, BHIFOS!
Interesting that these chopsticks should be much more efficient to use as they have a larger surface area in contact with the food.
Ooh nice. I really like Sugahara glass, it has a very sleek aesthetic, but I never see it here in Aus.
The twist is so nice with these!
Thanks for your comments, kivatinitz! I will probably never test your hypothesis as I am afraid of breaking them!
Thanks for your comments, Karen! They are pretty spiffy. There is actually an identical boxed set for sale at a modest price on ebay right now! Not seen too often!
Thanks Karen, Watchsearcher, Cisum, kivatinitz, Jenni and vcal!
Thanks, fortapache!
