This glass vase is about 8" high x 6" widest diameter and weighs just under 5 lbs. It has a snapped pontil mark and is not signed or marked in any way.

Very inexpensive online auction find in the U.S. When I first saw it, I thought it was a molded Chinese vase but then saw that it has a snapped pontil. I do not recall ever seeing a Chinese vase with a snapped pontil but sure there must be some. It appears to be clear cased glass over a cotton candy textured inner green layer.

Then I wondered how it was made and went down a rabbit hole of trying find something similar but could not. Very odd thick, heavy vase so I impulse purchased so I could get a better look at it. Seller's images which I will replace when it arrives.

I tried Google Images and could find nothing similar. Odd color, odd pattern.... I am stumped. Does anyone recognize this style of vase or have a guess about its origin or how it was made? Guessing it is American studio glass???

I've never seen anything like it, but it's interesting, the texture, the sheen and the color distributed as if randomly.
