Here is a 5 1-2"H x 6"W yellow satin glass camel shaped covered dish, originally designed in the 1920s and called Humphrey. This version is from the mid-1970s in the color yellow mist, made in limited edition by Westmoreland for Levay Glass of Edwardsville IL. W in G imprint seen in last photo
Jenni....I LOVE IT!
Can't say I've seen one of these in the wild. Nice piece and as always, great information.
very nice
Cool Bactrian (two humped) Camel.
The upright humps indicate the camel is well fed :)
Love the color of this covered dish.
Very cool. I can see him sitting down like this in a sandstorm, blinking through the chaos of it, but yet he's still restful.
I love his colour, very sandy and blending in with the desert.
Lauren has imagined a perfect picture for me!
This is sweet, and Bactrian camels seem rarely modeled.
This one ticks a lot of boxes in beauty and originality. This one is a first for me !~
Such a wonderful glass camel covered dish!!
Thanks very much to you all for the love

Ralph thank you so much for your terrific comment, I am really happy that you loved this guy!
Thank you Dave for your wonderful praise & yes, it's an out of the ordinary animal for sure, they've only made a few older glass camels I was lucky to nab this one. Glad you enjoyed the info, I rely on a couple great glass animal books where I mostly get the background on them & cross-check, it's always nice to find out more when I can
kivatinitz thank you for your lovely compliment it is so kind of you & very pleased that you liked this camel
Thank you Falcon for your marvelous praise & you taught me something, I did not know the raised humps means the camel is well fed, very cool! The color is really a nice soft yellow I like it too
As always Lauren you paint a beautiful evocative scene for me, I can certainly see this camel resting in a sandstorm! He did come out rather sandy colored in my pix, actually taken in a sunny room, it looked yellower in regular light, but sandy is more camel-like right? Thank you for your fabulous imaginative comment
Karen thank you for your fantastic comment & you're so right, most of the glass camels I've seen are single hump so it's a really nice version. I know, Lauren has such talented ideation & brings an animal alive so well
Thank you Phil for your superb praise for this fellow, an animal I have rarely presented here because they are pretty rare, yet such majestic creatures I think
Scott thanks ever so much for your awesome comment & I'm thrilled that you thought this a wonderful piece as well
What an interesting piece and unique color like your Rhino. Now I want a camel as depending on what these things eat I can probably save gas.I can see it now riding through downtown Lakeland doing the gangsta lean listening to Curtis Mayfield on my boombox. This could start a trend with a thrifty or enterprise renting camels for the day.Well I have to get back to the Zoo in my backyard as the dachshund is chasing the Rhino around who just went through the barn.
Thanks JB & Mani for the love, always most gratefully appreciated
JB I loved your comment it is so funny! Last night I did a big reply comment & it seems CW lost several hours of comments so I'll try to get the gist: yes the camel service would be gr8 & sure save gas money! And I can picture the feisty little dachshund chasing the rhino but he'd better be quick cause rhinos can really accelerate lol :) Thank you for that fun & fab comment
Very nice, I usually think milk glass in connection with Westmoreland, This is different for sure.
Thank you mikelv85 for the very kind comment & love, you are right Westmoreland did a lot of milk glass, I think they did this camel in milk glass as well but I mostly choose colored glass if I can find it as it shows up better in pix. And finding a camel was really unusual for a glass animal I was so lucky!
Thank you Trey for the love, it is so thoughtful of you and I'm very glad you liked this camel
Thank You for the update concerning CW's latest snag.
I appreciate the update!!
Falcon thank you for your kind comment & so sorry I took so long to acknowledge, I haven't received CW email notifications for years so I have to catch comments & loves by sight so I miss many. Yes it's great they fixed CW at least the important parts, but I'm disappointed that you can't archive any posts from this year, so you may miss that someone already posted something you are planning to post, & things like that
