This is an interesting & attractive small vase that I found on eBay US, a rare international purchase.
It is made from three layers of cased glass, milky white with a satin finish, over clear, with a swirl of rainbow colours forming the innermost layer.
The exterior has a fine swirling ribbed pattern. It measures 12.5 cm tall, 7.4 cm across the top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base.
The form is simple, & reminds me of an unfooted type of celery vase.
I am not 100% certain of the age or origin. The vase is in perfect condition with no damage or signs of wear, yet the technique & decor suggest a possible Victorian origin. The satin finish has the velvety smooth texture found only on 19th century satin glass.
Now That’s Nice !!!!!
Many thanks, Kevin!
I'm pleased that you could see this post as even though it shows up in my profile, it hasn't appeared on the Show & Tell posts. In fact, the Show & Tell posts don't seem to have updated since yesterday, which is a bit odd. Hope it gets sorted out soon!
very well done
Much appreciated, kivatinitz!
