This was a birthday present to myself (the big day was yesterday).
I'd been watching this vase on eBay UK for a while, & it had come down in price a few times, then I decided to make an offer, which was quickly accepted.
It is made from three layers of cased glass, clear over a softly blended spatter of pink, blue, orange & yellow, with a white interior. The vase measures 15.5 cm tall, 6 cm across the top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base. The simple, yet distinctive form consists of a rounded, four sided body topped by a short, flared cylinder with a scalloped rim. The spatter has an interesting, almost watercolour - style, painterly effect, like feathery brushstokes.
No pontil mark is visible on the base.
This was sold as Harrach. I guess circa 1880s - 1890s or so.
In perfect condition.
Many Happy belated Birthday Marin, hope you had a wonderful day..the colours are very pretty in this and I really like the shape..lovely!..
Many thanks, Penny!

Auguri !!! Beautiful Rainbow !!!!!
Many thanks, Kevin!
It’s so beautiful in the way the swirl forms of color on the body of the vase follow thru as swirl shapes on the rim.
Much appreciated, Patricia!
