At the Wentworth Park Collector's Fair here in Sydney, Australia last Sunday, I had a lucky find of a lidded chocolate bowl designed by Andries Dirk Copier for Leerdam. Although designed in 1934 it looks thoroughly modern to my eye - but it is almost 90 years old. A rare survivor in pristine condition. A combo of frosted glass in black and clear and topped with a clear crystal handle, it bears Copier's cypher ... and it was this that just rocked me after I'd spied the bowl on a dealer's table. I knew of these frosted black and white Art Deco pieces designed by Copier but I was shocked to see one here in Australia. The fourth pic shows the bowl next to some other Copier pieces I have already posted on CW : the KO1534 beside a big KN 1705 and two early KO 647's. I have a bit of an A.D. Copier fixation.
