This jug was made in Bohemia. In spite of the décor it is not cameo glass as we understand it. The décor is of thick white enamelling, usually on a coloured base. It is however a known type of decorated art glass. The jug has a satin finish with a sheen, best caught in image four.

Thank you, inky, for providing this information. It is much appreciation.

Is this Fenton? It sure looks like it to me. Gorgeous, I'd keep it too!

Hi, shareurpassion, I live in the UK and never see Fenton. I think your judgement can only be better than mine....... It has no marks though.

You're so sweet. Not all Fenton is marked. I'm no Fenton expert but I have been around it since the 70's. And honestly, I just learned that there are Fenton vases in dark colors, like black. Your piece, whatever it may be, is very beautiful. The color has a velvety hue to it. Just gorgeous!

Looks very much like Florentine ‘Cameo’ Art Glass, not cameo but what Bohemia made when Cameo was in vogue c1900 (I think) and cheaper.

inky Great information, Penny. I've seen several listings with this type of thick, single colour enamel decoration. One even called it cameo but I didn't know it was a recognised style/type. I suppose this would have been 'Poor man's Cameo'. You learn something new every day!

It is actually called ‘Florentine Cameo’ art glass but as you know not in the true sense and some are even enamelled marked this on the base, some have lost it over the years..still quite collectable.

That info was new for me too Inky. Thank you.

Yes, I agree! Great info!!! That's what I continue to carry with me, as much as I can retain, is all the knowledge everyone shares so freely! Not much better than that! It's so good to be able to refer to when you're out and about!
