Here is a 4"H pale green glass wild bird (I'm told a raven) beside a tree stump, made by artist Paul Hoff for the World Wildlife Fund by Kosta Boda of Sweden, part of Hoff's wildlife series of the 1970s-1980s. This piece made in limited edition of 9000, imprinted on underside with Hoff signature

A very strong personality for this proud raven, very consistent of images I have seen and admired of that bird, beautiful colour also !~
He's gorgeous, ravens are my favourite birds, they get such a bad rep in some cultures with negative associations but I think they're so handsome and glossy, and very smart too.
I'm imagining what he would look like in black glass with a slight navy tint as most raven plumage is, even though that light smoky grey is a really cool colour also.

Thank you Phil for your marvelous praise for this raven, he certainly looks proud & noble, and what strong personalities they do have...a mother raven must have a nest near our front lawn, because when I go outside she shrieks a warning at me as she perches on a fence, so I keep clear! Hoff really did capture this bird's essence and the color softens any sharpness
Lauren thank you for your terrific compliments and I certainly agree, ravens get a bad rep, perhaps something to do with the Edgar Allan Poe story which was scary, or the magpie legend "one for sorrow, two for joy" as ravens are related to magpies (we only have ravens here in NY, or I might end up saluting the singletons as I learned watching British TV shows lol). I'm very glad you liked the grayish green color here too, most of Hoff's WWF animals are on the paler side, but looking closely you can see all the great realistic detail
