Ramon Prats Ventos was born in Spain in 1928. When he was 15 years old, he became the official artist for El País newspaper in Havana. He studied at the National School of Visual Arts in Santo Domingo, the School of Graphic Arts in Havana, and the Art Students League in New York, where he exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and worked with Jose Vela Zanetti on a mural in the lobby of the UN Headquarters. In 1956 Prats moved to Mexico, where he was instrumental in the development of modern art in painting and sculpture until his death in 2003.
I’m dismayed to have found this painting left curbside, needing only minor repair to fix the board back to its frame, but happy to have saved it from the trash.
Please message me if possible re this piece. Thank you!
Mshainprats I’m not sure how I’d go about that
