This was a super online find within Australia - a stunning Art Nouveau glass dresser jar. It was a very reasonable price for such a rarely seen item.
The jar measures 8.5 cm tall (inclusive of lid - 6.8 cm without it), 7.4 cm across the inside of the top rim, & 5.7 cm across the base.
The exact colours of this item are difficult to clearly discern - it appears to be made from greenish amber glass with a purplish brown spatter. There is applied veining that runs both vertically & horizontally all over the jar, & the whole has an intense iridescent finish.
It has a silver lid (no markings at all) with finely detailed engraving of a basket of flowers.
I guess that this is of Bohemian origin, circa 1900. If anyone knows the maker I'd be pleased to know!
