Hello from a collector of Totem Pole Postcards and Vintage Totem Pole Photos of Alaska and British Columbia. I am researching 1) who was the ARTIST that created these lovely totem pole postcard illustrations and also 2) who was the PUBLISHER of the postcards? The postcards cards have an artist signature (possibly ‘Osborne’) and are dated 1936. There are 10 postcards in this grouping that I have in my collection, although there may be others. The back of each is the same. I enclose several photos of the cards, and the back, and the signature of the artis. I have also seen the ‘Osborne’ artist name on some totem pole illustrations used for Canadian Pacific menus during that period. Thank you for any assistance in solving these questions.
This drawing was made by Milton Osborne.

Dear mp.kunst, I cannot thank you enough for pointing me in the right direction about the artist of these postcards. I have been searching for 5 years in many places for answers and now I know! It appears that Mr. Osborne used a number of his totem pole illustrations to also develop artwork for menus for Canada Pacific.
Here are the 10 various totem postcards in my collection (all with a 1936) dating:
1. Canada, Alert Bay, Various Totems
2. Canada, Alert Bay, Unknown Totem
3. Canada, Prince Rupert, Wolf Totem
4. Canada, Prince Rupert, Unknown Totem
5. Canada, Queen Charlotte Islands, Grizzly Bear Totem
6. USA, Ketchikan, Alaska, Chief Johnson Totem
7. USA, Ketchikan, Alaska, Chief Kian Totem
8. USA, Wrangell, Unknown Totem
9. Canada-B.C., Prince Rupert, Unknown Totem
10. USA, Ketchikan, Alaska
Again, many thanks to you for your research!
