Hello I’ve just found this with some pendants & don’t even remember putting it there, I guess I thought it was something it might be lapis lazuli, but not sure, also I don’t get how it’s faceted on one side & flat the other , I’ve never seen a ring like that, if it has come from a ring that is, it’s quite big
The back is flat because it's a cabachon. "Cabs" are used virtually anywhere- rings, pendants, bracelets, brooches and pairs can be used in earrings, th3y just need a bezel. Could be lapiz or a dyed stone. Fakes abound. I'm a beader with limited knowledge but that's the basics.
Thanks Blind, interesting I’ve got cabochon stone’s but not one faceted normally just smooth rounded surface
Cabs can be domed or faceted, but most I see are domed in some way. I think this looks really great, but I'm partial to facets. :)
