This lamp is 11" high, minus the socket and harp, the glass body is 9" high x 5" in diameter. It is made of a blown glass body with Aventurine inclusions. What looks like a missing piece in the glass frill above the base is just the way it was made. The base is brass plated metal. The top of the harp says "Berger Swivel Harp Patent 2270497". It appears to be original to the lamp and the patent applied for date was 1940, approved in 1942 and expired in 1959. The finial is solid brass. The shade appears to be newer.
Guessing the lamp dates to the 1950s. I see no maker's mark. Identified as Murano, but maker not identified.
I am not sure if I am going to try to disassemble it to clean it and at the same time look for any clues about the maker. It is pretty dirty. I did later use cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol to clean up most of the grunge where the glass meets the base.
GW find for $9 today.
Thought you might like to know, this is a genuine Murano Lamp w/ Gold Aventurine. I'd call this a Bedside Lamp. Very nice!
Thanks, Deano!
