Here's a recent GW find....yet another single MCM era dining chair. I never seem to find these in pairs let alone their original 4 to 8 plus table. I guess people pulled one to serve as a desk chair and the rest get inherited or sold at auction. This walnut ladder back example with it's Avocado vinyl seat from the 70's was made by the "Lenoir Chair Company" North Carolina. They were eventually purchased by Broyhill in the mid-20th century. Broyhill also accquired competitors Lane and Ethan Allen. In January 1991, Broyhill declared bankruptcy, filing for protection from its creditors under Chapter 11. I remember our huge local Ethan Allen showroom closing around that time and LazyBoy taking over the building. After all these years now I know why. -Mike-
