Hello I’ve just rediscovered this lovely green gemstone, still not sure what it is but am thinking of taking some and paying for a report on any good ones, but trying to learn as much as possible before I venture into that murky world

A reputable jeweler won't charge for an assessment. They'll sort through your items and tell you what you should get appraised and/or insured. I recently took some of my mother's jewelry to be assessed and while I knew what most of it was, it was good to get confirmation. ...And never tell a jeweler if your interested in selling. Even credible jewellers will ask and it's none of their business unless you decide to make it their business.

Similar to your aquamarine- I have a blue topaz ring of hers and needed to confirm it wasn't aquamarine. It is indeed blue topaz which is essentially a weed where I live, none the less, it's perfectly beautiful!

The stone you have here, in my limited knowledge, looks like a tourmaline, but I say that in part, because it is a common cut for a tourmaline.

I agree with BlindSquirrel it looks very much like Green Tourmaline. Lovely stone.
