The posting a few days ago of an Imperial Free Hand glass vase made me get this one down.
I bought it several years ago. It was one that I first went past, thinking it was some sort of carnival glass. I picked it up and was suprised with the weight and overall quality of the piece.
It stands about 9 1/4" tall, with a 2" base and 4" top. The vase goes from a red to almost orange color. The rim has an amber edge.
The bottom shows a ground and polished pontil and age scratching consistent with it having some actual age.
Any help on attribution is appreciated.
Thanks to LoetzBuddies: "I believe it is Poschinger (German)." "Imperial did not do this vivid red. Also did not do the pie-crust top."
