Here is a 4"H blue & green speckled glass elephant with its trunk down, by R. Stennett Willson for Wedgwood Glass ca 1970s w/ orig label & etched mark on bottom. I have previously posted the trunk up version in speckled cranberry glass
Refreshing to see an elephant with its trunk down, not bad luck! His color is absolutely stunning!!
Many thanks to you all for the love

Absolutely true DejaVu, the trunk down elephants get such a bad rep because of all the "lucky trunk up" stuff. However in real life, 90% of the time elephants walk around with their trunks down, so this guy is my tribute to them :) Wedgwood made both types because they really tried to create natural looking animals, this fellow does have a pretty bi-color body too. Thank you my friend for your wonderful and thoughtful comment
She's a gorgeous elephant and to see her with a trunk down as opposed to up is nice too. She's very serene and calm too, and very nice rainforest type colour. I actually imagine her in a jungle lagoon because of that lovely shade.
Oh my goodness! Jenni,INCREDIBLE! Just like you!!!!
Ivonne & Ralph, thanks so much for the love it is always super appreciated!

Thanks leesa & Dawn for the love for this glass elephant, very pleased that you liked it and appreciate your thoughtfulness
What a sweet Wedgewood elephant. I have been reading about how Cher saved an elephant in distress, and am now fascinated by these gentle giants. Beautiful, Jenni.
Daisy thank you so much for the love and super comment liking this elephant, you can always count on Wedgwood for quality animal figures. Great story about Cher I didn't know that, elephants truly are gentle giants & I miss seeing them at the circus (I know, not PC today, but I don't think all the circus animals were abused)
Thank you oldtimer49 & Faith for the love for this glass elephant, very glad you liked him & always appreciate your kindness
