This 2 1-2"W silvertone butterfly brooch has an oval central turquoise rhinestone, with round pastel inlaid stones on pearlized teal & green enamel wings. By celebrity Alana Hamilton Stewart, designed in the 1980s but featured in her 90s jewelry line, as seen on nasvete/kaleidoscope effect
I am surprised at how good these Alana Sewart designs are.
I really like the two colours of enamel and different colour stones.
Beautiful enameling and the large turquoise focal stone is gorgeous!!
Dazzling design just love the wing veining which gives the colours more realism, it highly stands out beautifully !~
Gorgeous enamel work...love it!!
Beautiful and Elegant! Jenni, you are Awesome!
Beautiful butterfly, that's a stunning one all right and the lovely turquoise, sea green colour of her wings is amazing! Especially the lovely blue rhinestone of her body.

Thank you Karen for your fantastic praise for this butterfly, I too was surprised to find such top quality from Ms Alana who seems to have so much else in her life going on but hey, I've always appreciated diversity. This is my 2nd piece by her and was also pictured so beautifully on that nasvete site that I sought it out, just as you said the two color bright enamel & placement of stones really attracted me
DejaVu thanks so much for your marvelous compliment, agree with all you said & also love that faceted oval turquoise center, it really "makes" the whole design
Thank you Phil for your terrific praise and you are so spot on about the veining giving the wings realism, my husband & I were doing some backyard gardening yesterday & what should alight on a nearby flower, a gorgeous monarch butterfly (very rare in our parts, we mostly see white ones) fanning its lovely black & gold wings, and in the sunlight the veining in the black wings made the color so much lighter & prettier. It stayed near us quite awhile & they're said to be lucky, here's hoping :)
leesa isn't the pearly bright enamel lovely in the complementary colors, she also made one in purple & red but I much prefer this cooler palette. Thank you for your awesome compliment
Thank you Ralph for your delightful praise you are the nicest guy my friend! I try to choose well & bring some cheer, and your appreciation means so much
I've got so many butterfly gems Lauren but this one is really different & special, the colors and rhinestones all work together in perfect harmony. It does have an ocean fantasy aspect to it that I love as well. Thanks as always for your fabulous compliments
When I saw this, it reminded me of mom. She had made several green silk butterfly ornaments. The colors were very similar. We just sent them to a new home through our etsy store.
Hi Dave
I'm so glad to hear that this butterfly is a pleasant reminder of your mom, she was such a talented artistic lady, and I think it's wonderful you have sent some of her ornaments to a new home to be loved. For me, the best reminders of my mom are thoughts, memories & looking at her pix in family photo albums, we will always have them in our hearts :)
Thank you Mike for the love, always greatly appreciated & glad you liked this butterfly
Thanks JB & Gruff for the love for this butterfly, very kind of you both and much appreciated
