Carved squirrel nut dish possibly 1940s by Rhon Sepp, Germany. it’s a fun piece. I break out at Christmas and fill with assorted hard nuts … I call it my ‘demonic’ squirrel dish .

Very cute. My sister would love this.
Thank you Dave, he’s a pretty wild, looking squirrel lol
Beautiful example of Treen Ware. Love it !~
Hi Phil, is that what it’s called? I hadn’t heard that term before., or is that a general term for wood carved items?
Yes its the official name, treen ware, they sometimes have artists at craft shows with treenware, small bowls and other knickknacks made of wood. There may be books at your local library.
I used to carry a book on Treen. Maybe buy some wood oil where the wood cleaners are at a wal-mart. They have some in darker for chips in darker woods and regular for no stain. Best for these would be go to hardware store and get a plastic bottle 16 fl. oz. of Howards "Feed-N-Wax wood polish and conditioner" which can give these babies of yours a prof polish look quick !!~
Thank you Phil good idea on the oil… he’s starting to look a little chippy and could use a perking up
