Another restoration project!
I'd seen this pair in an inner city op shop a couple of weeks ago, & I thought a few thoughts...like cool, I've always wanted a pair of mantel lustres...followed by...not more big glass again! Rounded off with - if they're still around the next time I drop by, then it was meant to be.
And thus it came to pass that they came home with me!
They are made from milky white glass, & measure 26 cm tall, 13 cm across the top rim & 12.5 cm across the base. There is hand painted decoration of flowers, & traces of worn gilding. As can be seen, they are missing their crystal lustre drops, so I'll need to hunt down some replacements. Otherwise they are in good antique condition with no chips or cracks.
Most likely Bohemian origin.
