Known for: Still life, seascape and marine paintings.
Daughter to theatrical parents, Mae Bennett Brown showed an aptitude for the arts at an early age. She was educated at the Derby School in England and exhibited her work in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, England. Her work was also featured in the Bradford exhibition held at the Royal Academy
In 1921 she immigrated to the United States and settled in Boston. For six years she directed the Little Theater Group and also illustrated the Tercentenary History of Boston. By the 1920s she was painting on the North Shore and became a member of the North Shore and Rockport Art Associations. She painted many shore scenes and landscapes, but specialized in bright floral motifs. She held solo shows at the Boston City Club, the Boston Public Library and the Rockport Art Association
