    IronLace
    (930 items)

This was the third of my road trip finds - a wonderful piece of Victorian art glass most likely made in Stourbridge.
The heart - shaped, deeply crimped dish has a satin finish, & is made from clear glass with fine, white pulled loop decoration, overlaid with fine pink machine threading. There is a clear applied pincered rigaree. It measures 13.5 cm x 11 cm across the top rim, 5.5 cm tall, & 6 cm across the base, which has a polished out pontil mark.
Due to the similarity of the pulled loop decor overlaid with machine threading seen on a rose bowl in my collection, I believe this dish may be by Stuart & Sons.
    In perfect condition.

Well found, IronLace. A sumptuous piece so typical of the Victorian era and Stourbridge glassmaking. I'm assuming that this sat in a metal frame on the breakfast or dining table? Would love to have it my collection.

      Many thanks, Russell117!
Yes, a truly classic piece indeed. Like many of these items, its frame is long gone, but it still displays very well.
