Hello everybody!
This summer we went to Sweden and found this gem on a Loppis (Swedish antique/second hand store), were we bought it for a few bucks from someone who got it from a friend who inherited it from her grandmother.
It is marked with a Chevron stamp, as well as a stamp that says Swiss, a stamp that says 1775 and a stamp that says 12706. We first thought 1775 was the year it was produced, but we found that that was way too early for these type of clocks to be produced haha (rookie foolishness). It still works when we rewind it!
We have been to an expert in antique clocks to find out it's history, but he has never seen one like this before and couldn't tell us more than that it's of high quality and at least 800 euros worth with the advice to keep it for 20+ years. Unfortunately we still don't know anything about it's origin. There are only a handful of slightly similar clocks to be found online, but with very little information and none really similar in appearance only a bit similar style. We only know that it's a marble table clock and really hope to find out more about the story of this beaty.
We would really appreciate it if someone could tell us more, thank you in advance!!
