    Hello everyone!!
Something that you just don't see many of is a skunk doorstop. So, here is the only cast iron skunk I have in my collection. I named him "Sweet Simon". I don't believe this little fellow is old, possibly from the 1970's. This one is a solid one piece design and more than likely a new design as I've not seen any originals that this would have reproduced from. But, still a great little doorstop. There is a two piece cast iron skunk doorstop in existence that goes for a fairly high price. This one however, is not that particular skunk, unfortunately. This one measures 8 1/4" long and 6 1/2" tall. He weighs in at just over 6lbs!!

Thanks for stopping in for look at Sweet Simon the skink doorstop!!

    Scott

      Dave,
Thanks friend!! Yes, I remember watching Pepé Le Pew and Speedy Gonzales as a kid as well, both of which have now been classified as sexist and racist. Very sad that a group of people actually think of them that way and had them banned. Classic cartoons!!!

      Jenni,
Thanks so very much!! For some reason, or another, skunk doorstops are very few and far between.

      Kivatintz,
Yes, it’s nice to have this fellow and not have to deal with the smell. I have seen skunks as pets before and one person told me they love theirs and was not a lot different than owning a cat. It was a beautiful skunk as well.

Really unique Scott. We have one that visits early in the morning once and a while foraging in the grass. So I started calling her "Flower". Fiona loves her and "skunk" gets her to the door faster than "squirrel". She most likely considers her a kitty friend. Neither one seems afraid of each other but the runs fence is a safeguard. I'm cautious but I'll sometimes toss her a treat which is probably why she feels safe and not threatened. :)

      Mike,
Thanks!! That is so amazing that Fiona and Flower get along so well. One evening, couple of years back, I was letting my fur babies out and I saw something coming down the street in broad daylight that looked like a cat with her kittens. As they got closer, I realized it was a mother skunk and her 5 babies. I must say it was one of the cutest sights I'd ever seen and recorded the whole thing on my phone.
