    From the 1950s any other information on rarity would be appreciated

      Is this the same helmet listed on ebay? I'm not an expert in fire gear, but the badge doesn't look right to me. The chief and marshal are normally 2 different people, one appointed by the other. Additionally only a chief can wear a white helmet so why have all that written on the badge?

      NYS hospital is 2nd oldest hospital in U.S. there should be plenty of examples to compare it to?

      There is a New York Fire Museum..they should be able to determine if this helmet is correct. I'm sure they have an extensive history and pictures.
