Hello everyone!
Another recent find is this very whimsical pair of cast iron Toucan bookends. These were severely rusted, so I cleaned them and painted them the way I thought they might have looked in the early 1900's when they were new. Pic #4 shows what they looked like when I got them. I have been unable to find anything like these in all of my searches, so I have nothing to compare them to. The makers name is on the bottom of each, but they were so rusted that I could only make out the first two letters "SH". So, I'm not sure which foundry cast these. They caught my eye immediately and I had to have them for my collection. These Toucans each stand 5 1/8" tall and 5" wide. So, rather small in stature. I hope this whimsical pair of Toucans puts a smile on your face like they did mine.
Thanks for stopping in for a look at my vintage whimsical cast iron Toucans!!

Thanks Dave!! Those are the very ones I bought.
Thanks TallCakes!! I found a Puffin a while back, but it had a big piece broken out of the top. So, I'll keep on searching.
