Hello everyone!!
Here's another match holder I have in my collection. This little squirrel is so very detailed and very well made, it even has glass eyes, though one of his eyes has gone missing sometime over the past 60-70 years. It has two striker plates and even a place to dispose of the burned matches on the side. This one is made of cast iron and was made in England. It is numbered on the bottom, though I believe that is a patent number. It has the maker's mark on the bottom, but I do not recognize that marking. It appears to be JB, though I do not believe this is a Jennings Brothers piece as the JB is different than the Jennings Brothers marking. Perhaps someone here on CW can identify that maker's mark for me. This one measures 7" tall and 6" front to back.
Thanks for stopping in for a look at my vintage squirrel match holder!!
