    Hand Molded Sea Otter

    Approximately 8" x 4"

This one really fooled me at first. I picked it up at an estate sale with other items. I thought it was wood and it felt like it was dirty. I realized that it's actually molded wax. It is made by Stone Candles Inc. of Berkley California. They have been around since the 1960s.

Nice find Dave! I thought it was a wood carving at first. Otters are hard to find in any form, bronze cast iron, etc.. My brother inherited two large hand carved wooden seals from his former boss. I've tried to get him to sell them to me, but he won't hear of it.

Thanks Scott. I thought it was pretty cool looking. And they do have some value to them. Stored correctly, they can last a long time.
