Hello, I had purchased a box at an auction on the side of the box. I found this set of Russian nesting dolls. I have searched and searched and searched to find the age of these little beauties. I believe one might be missing because the smallest doll does open, I found similar example on a Russian museum site. I believe these are very old, but would love to hear some feedback as to how old and how are they valued? I might consider donating them to a museum because they seem pretty rare compared to any of the other ones I have thank you so much for all your help.
I tried to say I found them inside a box. I purchased at an auction. Please pardon the typos.
Welcome to CW. You can view your post and click the "edit this item"..then you can edit your post or delete and replace images. A tip..sometimes if you edit your images on the side a little, then upload and replace them they will load upright.
There's no defined amount of dolls.. the number can represent different things such as each family member or generations of members. There was a Russian artist that made 8 doll sets.

Interestingly nesting dolls actually originated in Japan not Russia.
