The flask is 5" high x 3" widest diameter and the cup is 2.5" high x 2" wide. This glass sake set is made of thin walled glass which has a flower design painted on a matte external finish with a glossy interior and is signed on the outside of the flask. I think the design is hand done but partially using a silk screen process embellished with hand painting and the application of gold foil. The technique may be similar to the making of a pochoir print.

For an unassuming set, it is fairly complexly made. Both pieces are heavier than expected because the bases are very thick glass. If laid on its side the flask behaves like one of those old clown bowling pin dolls as it immediately rolls back onto its base. It was challenging to get an image of the bottom of the flask, I really needed a third hand to do it easily. The angle of the top of the flask in the images is not a distortion of my images, it is noticeably slanted.

It also takes some practice to pick up and drink from the cup, due to the thin top and thick, heavy bottom. The first time I tried, I knocked it over and had to lick spilled sake off of my desk. Of course I didn't actually do anything so inelegant. Ahem. At any rate, I am practicing using this cup while I write this description. Full, the flask holds about four cups of sake.

Not sure how this set was made or who made it.
