The triangular base on this might have pointed to it being by Zanetti but I've not been able to find anything similar by him or anyone else. Its 14" tall, weighs over 3lbs and as far as I can tell contains 6 or 7 different colours. There has been some debate as to whether it contains uranium and I think it does, but can't be certain, the camera does enhance the colour. UV also brings out some cadmium orange.
A very nice and colorful fish. Is the bottom flat and polished. I haven't seen a base like that. It's big and seems like it should be signed.
Thanks Deano, the bottom hasn't been ground and polished, it's slightly raised and a bit lumpy, no sign of a signature.
how interesting the fact that it contains uranium glass...
kivatinitz, I find quite a lot of these Murano Sommerso pieces which contain uranium. I will post a bird which I bought yesterday.
