These two etchings were bought at an auction.
On the first we see all Calipso's nymphs gathered around Mentor delight in questioning him. Engraved by Martin de Monchy (1746-after 1815) after a painting by Charles Monnet (1732-after 1808).
On the second we see Venus bringing Cupido to help Calipso. Engraved by Charles Emmanuel Patas (1744-1802) after another painting by Charles Monnet.
As you remember, Calipso entertained Ulysses for seven years on her island.
The framings are believed to be the originals.
