All I know is it is very old & probably the coolest idea for a light bulb I have ever seen, to know some background on it would be much appreciated!!! There are absolutely no markings or signatures, but the light fixture peice says WOODWIN

Could it be part of a Black and White Whisky display or ad? The terrier is identical to theirs. I remember as a child my dad gave me a couple of magnets, one black, one white of these little terriers. They were exactly like the one in the light bulb, with a magnet glued to their feet. I played with them quite a bit, and can still close my eyes and "feel" them in my hand.

I haven't found anything on the lamp but found another link to the bulb.

Can you post a pic of the cord and plug.If not rewired it could tell approximate age.At this point I would have dated it in the 40s but the bulb is from the 30s which I could also see this being made in the 30s.
