Thank you Scott for your wonderful praise for these birds. I'm a big fan of the BJL animals as they have such a realness to them. And having been a parakeet owner, that's my favorite bird :)
Many thanks WilliamYoung for your super compliment it's very kind of you! I think the Bohemian Jewellers did a fine job here & I'm glad you think so too :)
The paint or enameling is so subtle and beautiful, it goes well with the parrot, but I'd love to see it with a little roadrunner, I never get enough roadrunners too !~
Such beautiful bird brooches!
Thanks everybody for the thoughtful love

Phil thank you for your terrific praise for these vintage birds & I have to agree, BJL did subtle enamel colors almost like with old Audubon lithos, and also very true to life of their bird subjects. If they made a road runner I will find one for you, they're so adorable!
DejaVu thank you for your marvelous compliment, I am truly glad you enjoyed these birdies. I love the BJL animals & have a few now, since they were made in England most are still sold from there, so I had wait patiently for these guys. And so great to find a parakeet for me!
Many thanks Mike for the love it's very kind of you & much appreciated
Thanks kivatinitz & Vet for loving this pair of British birds, very glad you liked them and always grateful for your thoughtfulness
Many thanks Faith for the love for these BJL birds, it's most gratefully appreciated
Wonderful birds, and such nostalgia for me! Lived near and worked in Birmingham’s wonderful jewellery quarter many years ago. Thanks for such a nostalgic post! For me the budgies have it ! I love them. Thanks for sharing this your pieces are all beautifully curated.
So sweet! Though first bird reminds me a little bit of a woodpecker too, I think it's the muted colours and the heavy beak? Parrot is great too, not as colourful of other parrots of yours, but I think her muted colouring gives her a great vintage glazed look.
Thanks Elaine & Lauren for your fantastic comments and the love!
Elaine, that's so exciting your working in Birmingham's jewelry quarter it must have been heavenly. I really love budgies too, having a few for pets was a real delight - they are so cheerful, and one we had for 12 yrs was a talker, he could say @ 50 words and phrases & was always learning
Lauren, I have missed your wonderful perceptive comments & am very glad to see you :)) These birds do have muted coloring and I can also see a woodpecker, good observ. For their age I think they've held up very well
