This Green Glass basket was a souvenir of the "Palmerston North Winter Show 1928" and is engraved as such on one side, the other has "Rose". They would have engraved a fair few with the show detail (not too many in case they didn't sell) and the ladies name would have been quickly put on when purchased by their partner.
As all good green glass of the time should be it is loaded with uranium so much so on this one that it glows in even moderate sunlight.
230mm high and 150mm across the basket.
Note I purchased this a while ago for what I thought at the time was a lot but now here in NZ there are a lot of people getting just as excited with uranium glass as the atoms in the glass do when shone with a UV torch!! Prices have gone up extraordinarily high, I'm almost tempted to flog some off.
