Cambridge Glass Opalescent Vase with label. Recent find. Under the fluorescent lighting at the thrift, this vase shined. When it had a Cambridge label on it, I had to have it. Dirty in the store, beautiful after cleanup. and it's big. Super Opalescent.

    12 1/2" Tall
    8 3/4" Across
    4 1/4" Opening
    4 3/4" Base

    Thanks for looking.

I've already gotten some feedback about this. There is a question as to where in the U.S.A. they were made. I've been told that the Cambridge "book" doesn't show them, so an issue of there pedigree has arisen. If anyone knows about this Cambridge Glass Line, please chime in. Thanks and Happy New Year.

Cleared that up. I guess you could call it a hybrid. This is a "Super Glass" vase. The Cambridge Glass Hand Blown U.S.A. Label was used on glass produced after the Cambridge Glass Company closed and the factory was bought by Super Glass in New York City and reopened briefly in the mid to late 1950's.

Nice. I have had one of these vases for several years. I very vaguely recall that I concluded mine was made in Chicago, but no longer remember the details of my research. They are quite striking vases.

I have a smaller example I posted to CW which has a very well.preserved label:

Thanks KWQD, glad to see yours. I believe this vase was in the Thrift when I found the big LE Smith Floor vase about 2 weeks ago. And as such, it completely took my attention away from this one. So.... bonus, when I went back yesterday and picked up, it had been there for another 2 weeks and the color code had shifted to 1/2 price. $7. Which also means, that literally thousands of shopper passed by this vase. Hard to figure, it was labeled, just sitting there for the picking. LOL.

Yay, bargain! I have, inexplicably, picked up some amazing pieces out of the "on the way to the dumpster shelf". Like this one:
