Hello everyone!!
Well, it's been a while since I posted a cast iron doorstop, so I thought I'd post this one. It is a copy of a 1930 Taylor Cook No. 1 Penguin doorstop. It's a pretty good copy of the original, but the feet are different from the original as well as several other small details. Still, I really love this one. It measures 9 1/4" tall, 5 1/4" wide and weighs just over 7lbs.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
Scott
He looks fabulous with his vibrant colors and design!
Bright and sunny penguin, he's fabulous Scott!
Nice piece Scott.. very amusing look.
DejaVu,
Thanks!! He's also a rather heavy one.
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! One this snowy winter day, we all need a bit of bright and sunny:)
Dave,
Thanks!! Taylor Cook made a series of these in 1931 and they were all very whimsical. I have a few from that series, but most are not within my collecting budget:)
