Beginning to pack the collection for safe journeys as I relocate. This Kralik is pretty substantial at 10" and has a pinkish clambroth background with royal blue "seaweed". The ribbing adds another layer of interest. Stamped Czechoslovakia. Cheers! ????
Beautiful piece. However, it is not a production of the W. Kralik glassworks, as it is generally attributed, but a product of the bohemian glassworks Ernst Steinwald & Co from Teplice-Schönau. This shape was used by Steinwald in several sizes (still known in 15, 18 and 25 cm sizes). Steinwald's molds in the dimensions of 15 and 18 cm were acquired by the Franz Tomschick glassworks in Kostany near Teplice after the Steinwald glassworks were forced to cease operations (Aryanization of Jewish property) at the end of 1938. In Tomschick's book of shape drawings it is numbered 07709 with the note E. St. & Co. These smaller shapes have 2 lobes less than your vase.
Thank you Larksel for that info! I've noted it for packing and future info upon unpacking!
send me your email address and I will send you photos of the drawing and you can attach it to your post. My address: info@bohemianglass.org
