Here is a 4"H blue glass horse that was item #920 from the Pilgrim Glass 'window glass animals' series of the 1960s-1980s. This is a new variety of Pilgrim horse for me, one of four they made in different poses (I have two others, sitting & prancing, posted here). Original Pilgrim 1960s label, a lucky vintage find

And special thanks for wonderful comments

Scott isn't it a great color blue, I believe it began as cobalt but parts of it are much lighter

Phil I was thrilled to finally find this guy, and yes he has an exaggerated body and head as was the norm for WV glass horses from the 60s. I love the ragged mane it's very artistic

Vynil you are absolutely right, most Pilgrim glass animals do have those spindly thin legs & fragile tails, it's a miracle when they arrive without breakage but shippers always pack them xtra cushioned, I don't think I've ever had a broken Pilgrim animal on arrival and that's amazing

Gorgeous horse, he's beautiful! Reminds me of the chalk horses on some hills in England. The horse is of course an important animal and symbol to the Celtic people and they're depiction of horses tend to be very elongated and elegant which is like your glass horse.

Lauren thank you so much for your fabulous & observant comment/love for this horsey, he really does look alot like the chalk horses in England, I'd seen them on the BBC program Escape to the Country and do remember their elongated shape. For such a slim fellow he is rather a pretty one I agree
