This is a beautiful plate that we bought about two years ago for about 4 U$ to Carina Fuman in Belgrano street used things market. The decoration is very Art Deco era with Blue, Red, Yellow and Black balloons that form flowers like a branch of peach tree blossoming. The blue designs are stamped and the others hand embossed painted and very bright.
It is in a very good state of conservation despite it was made in 1930 as you can see in low relief on the reverse of the plate, the picture was taken by Sergio with the light against the plate, this date is consistent with the seal that was used from 1901 to 1922 and 1927-36 from the very useful site http://www.thepotteries.org/mark/b/brown.html. The Mapping and Webb mark could means that the plate was done for them and sold at the filial the firm had in Buenos Aires in the 28 of Florida St from 1915 until 1960?. The famous Evita’s emerald necklace was bought there in 1946. The hand written letters and figures are H, that is the painter Emma C. Harrison and the numbers the pattern. Another characteristic of this plate is that is has the border in gold, rare for that year of deep financial crisis everywhere.
