Hello everyone!!
Here’s a set of cast iron bookends depicting a little boy and girl reading books. These are from around 1920. They’re 5 1/4” tall and 6 1/2” long. They each weigh 3lbs. There is a foundry mark on the backside, but I don’t recognize the mark. There were a couple of different manufacturers of these, and there are only slight differences between the two different manufacturers. Maxfield & Parrish manufactured a set of these, but this set is made by an unknown manufacturer. I bought two sets of these back before Christmas, and wanted to post them before I pack them away for storage. I’ll post the other set soon. I carefully cleaned these while trying to kept the wonderful patina they've developed over the past 100+ years and I replaced the felt on both. . These remind me so much of the children depicted in the primer readers we used in elementary school many years ago.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Very cute studious pair, the vintage clothing & girl's hairdo really reflect the times
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! I love the design of these as well. I've seen many sets of these, but most I've seen are in poor condition of priced far too high.
