There were 2 Genesis bands. The first was led by Peter Gabriel their dynamic lead singer. When Gabriel left the band, Genesis turned to drummer, Phil Collins. Genesis had featured 2 full drum sets with Gabriel. One of those drummers was Phil Collins, who left drumming duties and picked up the Mike. Phil had been writing songs for years but lacked creative influence on the band due to Peter Gabriel's presence. In the early 1980's, the Phil Collin's "Genesis" emerged from the Peter Gabriel shadow. That is the Genesis that most everyone remembers. Genesis under Gabriel lacked hit songs. Under the song writing and singing of Phil Collins, the legend of Genesis was established. Gabriel Genesis was more of a niche band while Collins Genesis was a hit machine. Which brings us to this album. This was a money album, on the charts for a long time with 5 Top Ten songs all Genesis classics. It's a good one.
