Hello everyone!!
So, you probably saw my antique cast iron snow hare doorstop that I posted a couple days ago. That terrible silver paint was really starting to get to me, so I decided to strip the tacky silver paint from him and bring him back to his original glory. I think, if he could speak, he would be quite relieved to be back to his normal self again. Besides, the silver paint just didn't belong at all. So, I do hope you like him much better now, I know I certainly do. As I mentioned in my previous post, he was made in the very early 1900's and he stands 11 3/4” tall, 11 1/8” deep. He's a two piece design held together with a single bolt. Unlike other cast iron rabbit and hare doorstops, that appear similar, this one has many differences such as the well defined fur, the larger eyes, as well as the more defined head and feet. This one is a very rare find in the world of doorstops, so I was very excited to find this fella!!
Thanks so very much for stopping in for a look!!

He looks great! You are quite the artist. And, i like the color backdrop in your photos!
This snow hare is so beautiful Scott, reminds me of a pink eyed white rabbit I had as a child

It's natural gift you have scott to get to the restoration of your piece, after all those years you had become an Artist in many fields that you have, you trunk restoration are amazing and same for you small cast figures .
This one above, you did an amazing job on the fur, look almost real.
Great job my friend.

You're far too kind my friend!! Thank you so very much. I love to paint and nothing brings me more joy than bringing a piece, that's in near disrepair, back to life again. Thanks you!!
