This was a neat find at a local op shop today! I drop in several times a week so my persistence was rewarded at last.
The open salt is made from ruby glass with an applied clear chain style rigaree, & applied clear feet with an embossed cross hatch or grid pattern. It measures 6 cm tall, 5.2 cm across the top, & 6.5 cm across the base. Compared to the other open salts I have, this one is a touch larger overall than the average example.
Victorian era, could be either English or Bohemian origin.
Nice feet, they are usually the first to go.
Many thanks Bernard!
Yes, a few of the others I have are a bit dodgy around the legs &/or rigaree. This one has got a tiny scrape on the rigaree but otherwise all good, especially for $3...
yes you can forgive it that for $3 :)
