Vintage Japanese geisha doll, curious of age, have no idea what value this may hold, but I think she is beautiful!

      Says "Kyoto" on bottom.

These dolls really aren't worth much because so many people brought them back and kept them in display cases. Sold at OX stores ans military brought tons of these souvenir dolls back. So e done by certain artists can be valuable.

Thanks dav2no1! My Google translated rectangle sticker to " Tanaka Yaya? Not sure what that implies for this doll. She didn't have a glass cover, but she was only 4.99 plus tax, so I am OK either way. It's very confusing trying to search, values were all over the place!

Thank you Newfld! I am enthralled with all the embroidery on it, don't know if it's hand stitched, but it's very impressive. Thought it had some stray loose strings on the back, but it was actually a continuation of the embroidery pattern, glad to be wrong on that! Thanks everyone for the loves, C.W.has the best people, I am honored to be a part of this family!

Well good news for me that looks like my doll has been made by the Tanaka ya doll makers shop in Tokyo. They have been in business since 1808, over 200 years! My dollars of course not that old but they do so similar one now on their website for $179,000 yen, which translates to about $1,18. 00 US dollars. Very excited cuz I think she's beautiful and I only paid $5 for her so no matter what I think I made a great bargain!

Sorry, meant to say Kyoto, not Tokyo as to place she was made. She stands about 10 inches with out the base. The one online was about 16 inches, so my next move is contacting Tanaka-ya and see what more I can learn from them! Seriously, how in the world did I ever find anything out without Google, haha!
