Hello everyone!!
A couple of years ago, I posted a "Rabbit By Fence" doorstop by Albany Foundry. Well, here's a slightly different version of that particular doorstop. This one is by an unknown foundry and was made in the early 1900's . There was a rubber version of this very doorstop that was produced by Kleistone Rubber Specialties, but this one is cast iron. It still retains most of it's original paint and measures 6" tall and 7 1/4" long. This one once had a rubber door bumper attached to the backside to prevent the door from getting scratched. However, that rubber bumper is long gone.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Red eyes = "demon rabbit"? Great shape for its age.
Beautiful rabbit by the fence doorstop, the scene is so realistic I've often seen wild brown rabbits on front lawns
kwqd,
Lol! Yep, I too wondered what's up with the red eye. For some odd reason, or another, there were several cast iron rabbits with either pink or red eyes back then. Still not sure why. Thanks for the comment and for dropping in!!
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! We typically only see eastern cottontail rabbits around here. There have been occasions when we counted as many as 15 cottontails in our backyard on a mild summer evening. Not so much any more though since neighbors with cats moved into the neighborhood. The cottontails have became a rare sighting since the neighbors have allowed their cats to roam freely thru the neighborhood 24/7.
