Hello everyone!!
In all of my countless searches for rare and unusual doorstops and bookends, I rarely encounter anything in the form of Dalmatians. So, when I do find Dalmatians, I buy them immediately. This is one of those finds. It's a pair of vintage cast iron Dalmatian bookends. These two fellas are nicely detailed and a nice size as well. I 'm not sure of the period these were made in or who the manufacturer was, but I doubt that these are too old. When I was a kid, we had a Dalmatian that was completely deaf. He was actually born deaf. But, that did not stop him from doing all the things that rambunctious dogs do and he lived a good long life as well. These each measure 9" long, 5 3/4" tall and weigh 2lbs 12oz.

Thanks very much!! Our Dalmatian was a stray that wondered up to my family's home. When no one claimed him, we took him in for our own. He lived another 14 years or so.
