Antique 1878 Ansonia Kitchen / Gingerbread Clock With Alarm

Hi,All I just purchased this nice Ansonia Kitchen /Gingerbread 8 day time and strike with alarm clock at my local flea market the guy I bought it from say it’s guaranteed to rung or Not run so I attached the pendulum and did a quick text to see if I thought it was going to run it did chime and see to be running so I purchased it at a good price he was asking $40 Though I was able to purchase for only $35 I was thinking of maybe refinishing the clock case as I would like it to be a little lighter Oak ? Sorry for the sideways pictures But will probably leave as is ,please leave a comment below if you would like to give me any more info thanks
