hello everyone and thanks for your attention.
I discovered this ring which belonged to my grandmother. She lived in Argentina, but emigrated from Ukraine (Russian Impery about that time). She was born in 1933.
I'm now in possession of the ring and I would like to know something else about it, as looks very old and not according with the local style.
I'm not interesting in prices, just if for the style someone could provide details about origine (could be from her mother, a Russian ring?) maybe was used for a proposed. How old could it be?
I'll appreciate any details you could have in mind.
Thanks for your attention and so sorry about my primitive english.

      Hi, dali19. :-)

It's an interesting ring, because it looks almost like there are no set-in stones, but rather the whole ring being fashioned out of some kind of metal. I see hints of what look like copper in places.

I could be wrong, of course.

By the way, don't worry about your English. A lot of Collectors Weekly Show & Tell users are USA natives, including me, and we tend to speak rather primitive English ourselves. };-)

      Hi Keramikos,
Thanks for your comment! you have raised my self-esteem :)

The ring was in a drawer like for (at least) 30 years and when I found it was all black, I had to clean it with coca cola and colgate (googled it) and started to shine again, but some parts seems to be a little bit (mmmmh) I wouldn't say rusty but something like that.
As you say, it's all made by the same material, no stones or accessories. I'm a very curious person, so let's see if we can discover something else.
      Have a great day!

      Hi dali 19
Given the design and construction of this ring, my guess is that this ring is Israeli. The age would be 1940s to early 1950s. It is most probably sterling. The fact that it was so tarnished is a clue on that. You can also polish sterling with toothpaste. That's way I saw it done in Mexico when I was a teenager. Perhaps there is a mark of the maker inside the dome?

      Hello plein-air-painter
Thanks for your reply to my post!
Yes, I cleaned with toothpaste and helped a lot!.
I'm so glad to read your reply and have some clue about it's origin and age. I'll try to get polish sterling.
Unfortunately, there is no marks in the ring.
