Here's a story with a happy ending, even if it took 8 years to bring about.
I'll start at the beginning - in 2016 I purchased a Victorian art glass hanging basket on a stand on eBay UK. Sadly the packaging was inadequate, & while in transit the stand was damaged. Thankfully the basket, in opalescent uranium glass, survived.
The stand was broken at the most critical point - the curled tip, right where it would bear the weight of the hanging basket. So I wasn't able to repair it. Perhaps if the base had been the damaged part, it might have been salvageable.
Anyway, from then on it became a goal to find a suitable replacement.
Finally this one turned up on eBay AU described as an art glass sculpture. I knew what it really was!
The seller did a great job of packing it securely, & now it's doing an equally fine job of displaying the hanging basket correctly.
The stand is made from clear glass with an extremely fine ribbed pattern on the stem. It measures 25.5 cm tall & 9.5 cm across the base.
Most likely English origin (Stourbridge) & dating from the 1880s - 1890s.

Marvelous! Both a stand for one basket only and that you actually found one. Puts a smile on your face!

      Many thanks Kevin!
Yes, these are pretty rare, I feel lucky indeed to have found a few of them over the years. Maybe I should do a group photo of them!

Much appreciated, Peggy, & that's exactly what it did for me!
It turned up in a general search for art glass. I have quite a list of "spare parts" I need, & often it seems easier to cast the net wide than be too specific.
I still have two stands (both Peloton) that need baskets though! :-)

      Many thanks, dav2no1!
Interestingly, this stand is actually a better match in my opinion than the original one! The one that got broken had a more elaborate & wider base. This one is a touch more simple & the better for it!
